When I was in college, I remember going back home to my parents' house over winter break. With no problem sets due, no classes to attend, and nowhere to go (they live on a farm), I was suddenly confronted with much more unplanned and unstructured alone time than I was used to. After my parents went to sleep early, I spent time in bed under the blankets journaling, and writing super meta stuff about my life, where I was, where I wanted to go, the relationships I had with the people around me.

Last year, around this time, I felt that something was brewing for me--that it was time to explore different possibilities. I'll have time to think about it over the holidays, I thought. But with a 1 year-old and a 3 year-old at home, virtually none of my winter break was spent alone. Being home felt more like work than going to work! It wasn't until I went back to work and scaled back my responsibilities a few months later that I really had time and space to explore the possibilities of how I wanted to challenge myself and grow. One of my major lessons from this past year is that time for introspection doesn't just fall in my lap anymore. I need to be intentional about carving out time to dream, to explore, to not be responsible for anyone else but me.

Even if you don't have small humans to chase after, time off is often filled with two extremes of doing--doing and not doing. That might look like travel plans, and family activities, and dinner with friends...paired with sleeping in, and binge-watching new Netflix shows. You might get around to making a new year's resolution to exercise more, or to eat more healthily, but will you take the time to just be with yourself and think about what you want?

As people drift away on vacation, offices slow down and empty out, and product development teams do some cleanup work, plan to take some much-deserved time for yourself. Maybe you're feeling like your learning has plateaued and you want to figure out what to do next. Or maybe you're in a career or life transition and need some help teasing out what your values are that can help guide you in your decision-making. Maybe you know something needs to change, but a limiting belief you have about yourself is holding you back from taking action. Maybe you've hinted at wanting something at work, but now it's time to advocate for yourself and be explicit about what you want.

A Clarity session can help you get unstuck in whatever part of your life or work you want to change but don't quite know how. When you sign up, I'll send you a short assignment to help you reflect on 2017, and look forward to 2018. Commit to making time just for you over the holidays to write down your thoughts. In January, we'll meet for a 80-minute video/phone coaching session to explore what came up, where you want to be in a year's time, and actionable steps to get there.

I usually only take quarterly coaching engagements through referrals, so this is something new for me. Limited slots are available, and are first come first serve. Please book a time through calendly before you purchase.

If you're interested in this session, but the slots are filled (or you can't make any of them), fill out this form and I'll let you know when there is more availability.
